Monthly Challenge: Book Worm – Read, Relax, and Rejuvenate Your Mind - This May, we’re inviting you to take a mental health break through reading. Your challenge: read for at least 600 minutes this month—that’s less than 20 minutes a day! Reading is more than just a hobby—it’s a proven way to boost your mental well-being. It lowers stress, improves focus, enhances empathy, and helps you feel more positive. When you immerse yourself in a good book, your body relaxes, your heart rate slows, and your mind escapes the constant buzz of daily life. For this challenge, we encourage you to read (not listen) so you can fully engage your mind and give it the mindful exercise it deserves. Find a cozy spot, settle in, and let your book carry you away. Taking time to read each day is a simple yet powerful act of self-care, nourishing your mind, calming your thoughts, and helping you build a stronger foundation for mental health. Happy reading and happy mind!

This month, we’re here to help you explore new ways to be your best YOU. Join us in building healthy habits this April and keeping them going all year long!

Our focus for April: Stress Management.

Learn how to navigate stressful moments with mindfulness and build practical coping skills for life’s inevitable ups and downs, especially when the unexpected shows up. How well do you bounce back from a crisis or chaotic situation? 5 Ways to Cope When Things Feel Out of Control VIDEO. Your stress reaction may feel automatic at times. But what if the next time you feel stressed, you respond in a way that calms you, helps you feel better, and renews your energy? With practice, these healthier responses can help you in the short term and in the long term. Rethink How You Respond to Stress.

No matter what stage of life you're in, you may feel the negative effects of stress more now than you did a few years ago. There’s no way to stop stressful situations from happening. But when they do arise, you can help your body and mind handle them better. Regular exercise, relaxation techniques, supplements, and healthy foods can help relieve stress.

Help Employees Manage Stress

With the Finding Balance stress management toolkit, you get resources to help you assess your organization’s needs, plan a strategy, engage your employees, and measure your program’s success. The full interactive toolkit is available for download. With employee feedback, you can plan your workforce health strategy and create a wellness committee to manage your program. Select a committee leader or your wellness coordinator to send out a promotional email introducing the Finding Balance program.

Be sure to include:

  • The program start date
  • Details on the kickoff, if you’re having one

After you’ve sent the email, print and post promotional flyers, employee guides, and other materials (see below) in common areas and break rooms to increase awareness.
